I was fortunate enough to work with Sly at Lakewood Elementary School. He was the custodian but he was also my friend. I will miss his amazing smile and that laugh of his. Rest in peace my friend. I know you are in heaven cutting grass and no longer in pain. Your friend, Kevin Barney

I went to school with vest as some use to call him. to me he was quiet. To the family rest in the knowledge that he's gone from this earthy existence waiting until God raise him up to receive a crown of glory. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal Rip vest.
