Sylvia Beverly Johnson, 78, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Beverly and Mildred Clement. Sylvia was a graduate of Fletcher Academy and served as bookkeeper for Shealy's Millwork, Lexington State Bank, and the Department of Health and Environmental Control in Columbia, SC. She was also an active member of the North Anderson Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Larry Johnson; children, Laura Jean Beahm (Michael), Sonya Johnson, and Chris Johnson (Kristin); grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson, Paul Johnson (Grace), Paige Beahm Suarez (Miguel), Noah Beahm, Samuel Johnson, and Liam Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Juniper Millikan-Johnson, Scarlett Suarez, and Gracie Suarez. Additional survivors include her brother, Erchel Beverly (Susan); sister, Rachel Beverly; nephews, Matthew Beverly and Nathan Beverly (Bobby Joe); and niece, Catrina Beverly.
A visitation will be held at Sullivan-King Mortuary (Anderson, SC) on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:30 pm - 8 pm. Family members are invited to join for a special open-casket viewing from 6 pm-6:30 pm. Funeral proceedings will take place at Sullivan-King Mortuary on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Golightly Cemetery in Toney, Alabama, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 11am CST.
