Canandaigua – T. Fred Nichols, age 94, passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 1, 2025, with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Loris (Andrews) Nichols; two children, Cheryl (David) Sundlof and James (Belinda) Nichols; three grandchildren, Jeffrey and Erin Sundlof and Noelle (John) Hillenbrand; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Cheeseman in 2025.

Fred was born in Batavia and was the son of Truman M. and Esther (Lord) Nichols. He attended Batavia schools and was a graduate of Batavia High School, class of 1949. Fred was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Canandaigua Chapter #4. Fred retired in 1991, after 31 years with the NYS Department of Labor. He was an avid racing fan, enjoyed camping and spending time with family.

Friends may call Friday, August 8, from 11am – 1pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight of Rochester, PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692 or Canandaigua Emergency Squad, 233 N. Pearl St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
