Tamela Sue Toombs, 67, of Stafford County passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at home after a brief illness, surrounded by her family.
Tamela graduated from Stafford High School in 1976 and recently retired after a dedicated 30-year career with Fulfillment Management Services. A devoted and proud grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her two beautiful granddaughters. Tamela found great joy in beach trips with her family and had a deep love for her beloved fur babies, who were always close to her heart.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Toombs (Justin Morris); daughter-in-law Melissa Toombs; grandchildren Alexis Toombs and Hailey Toombs; mother Charlotte Decatur; siblings David Decatur, Marie Lease, and Wendy Bender; sister-in-law Frances Minter; aunts and uncles Eddie and Sharon Allen, and Terry and Larry Brewer; nieces and nephews Ray Minter, Christie Toombs, Donald Toombs, Brittany Rusnak, Carly Hoagland, Jacob Lease, Katelyn Liekweg, Cameron Bender, Drew Bender, and Rachel Bender; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Toombs; son Dennis Toombs II; and father David Decatur, Sr.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stafford County Animal Shelter.
