Our beloved Dr. Tamika Ann Pollins was called home on October 11, 2023. Dr. Tamika Ann Pollins was born in Philadelphia, PA to Kenneth Pollins and Anna Alston Pollins-Grant on July 15, 1977.
Dr. Tamika Pollins had a passion for teaching after her younger brother and student Kenneth walked out of her classroom at the age of four. Dr. Pollins was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. She attended John L. Kinsey Elementary School, and then onto Martin Luther King High School where she graduated in the year of 1995. Soon after, her college experiences began at Lincoln University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She also attended Saint Joseph's University where she earned her Master of Science Degree in Education Administration. After her Masters, she went on to earn her Doctoral Degree from Northeastern University in Curriculum and Instruction.
Dr. Pollins was baptized at an early age in Philadelphia at Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was always a cheerful and happy young lady, who enjoyed plays, Broadway Shows, traveling, family vacations and shopping especially on Amazon. She loved to be in attendance of Polo matches watching the players
compete competitively on their horses. She was also a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Dr. Tamika Pollins had strong loving grandparents from both sides of her family, Richard and Dorothy
Pollins of South Carolina and Matthew and Lucille Alston of Philadelphia who all preceded her in death.
She is and will always be their little angel. Dr. Pollins is survived by her mother and father Anna Alston
