Tammy Michelle Smith, 57, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2025, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Born on August 27, 1968, in Plano, Texas. Tammy spent her days nurturing her home and creating a warm and inviting environment for her loved ones. She took immense pride in her roles and was known for her passions outside of her homemaking duties. Tammy enjoyed gardening, where she found solace in cultivating her plants and painting her garden structures. Her love for the outdoors often took her to Jack Rabbit Campground, where she reveled in the beauty of nature alongside her husband Perry, especially during their memorable nights of cat fishing.
Family was at the heart of Tammy's existence. She shared a deep bond with her husband of 20 years, Perry Ledbetter. Together, they nurtured a loving home for their children, daughter Donna Smith and son Samuel Smith. Tammy delighted in the company of her grandchildren: Brianna, Melvin, Sophie, Allie, Vada, as well as her special grandchildren, Brendan and Kent. Her furry companions, her beloved Beagle fur babies Midnight and Brownie, also played a significant role in her life, sharing countless family movie nights that will be fondly remembered by all.
Tammy is survived by her father, Ben Amos Campbell; her loving husband, Perry Ledbetter; her children, Donna Smith and Samuel Smith; her brother, Ronald Eugene Campbell; and her treasured grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Walker Campbell.
