Tammy Watson, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 following a sudden illness.
Born July 17, 1961, Tammy was a life-long resident of Dawson County. She was of Baptist faith and a 1979 graduate of Dawson County High School. For many years Tammy worked alongside her husband where they owned and operated Steve Watson Trucking and Paving in Dawsonville. She was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and very dedicated to her family and many dear friends. She was a talented cook and always working hard to take care of everyone she cared about. A beloved wife, daughter, sister, and aunt, she was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Stephens and father-in-law, Ray Watson.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Steve Watson of Dawsonville; father, Kenneth Stephens of Dawsonville; sisters, Marsha Stephens and Terri Reece, both of Dawsonville; mother-in-law, Nell Watson of Dawsonville; sisters-in-law, Pam Garmon (Ron) of Big Canoe, Patti Hendrix (Roy Lee) of Jasper; all the special ones that knew her as "Mammy".
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Burt will officiate. Interment will follow at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 20 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Tammy to Juno Baptist Church, C/O Cameron Burt, PO Box 627, Dawsonville, GA 30534.
