Tanek Rei Barton

Tanek lived twenty three beautiful years. Born in Denver CO on May 23rd 2002; a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. He was someone everyone could count on; from family and friends to strangers on the street. To know Tanek was to know love, and to know laughter. From the random people he would approach in public, to the regulars at the gym, and coworkers of all ages. Tanek made friends with everyone he crossed; and you could not meet Tanek and leave without a smile. He supported and protected everyone he met.

A true Colorado native and mountain man, if he wasn't with his loved ones he was out enjoying nature, camping and fishing, or in the gym. Tanek was always ready to tag along on a new adventure, so no one had to do anything alone. Tanek wanted everyone to be the best version of themselves and would support you the entire way. He was the best of us; the funniest, strongest, and he would argue the most handsome.

Tanek is survived by his mother, father, stepfather, brother, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many more friends and family. Nothing will ever compete with the love and support he showed those he loved.

Funeral services will take place at Horan and McConaty in Aurora, CO on Tuesday August 23rd, 2025, at 11am-1pm. We will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers we are asking that you donate to the preservation of our National Parks in Tanek’s honor; he loved nature more than humans!
