Ted Ray Boles of
Rossville, GA, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 23, 2026, to be with our Heavenly Father.
Preceded in death less than a year ago by his father, James Ray Boles, and earlier by his brother-in-law, Todd Andrew Smith, Ted is survived by his beloved wife Angelia Gowin Boles, his daughters, Amanda (Alex) Rambousek of
Chickamauga, GA, and Madison Boles of Rossville, stepson Michael (Amanda Erickson) Redman of
Fort Oglethorpe, GA, sisters Tina Smith (Eric) Zitzow of
Chattanooga, TN, and Minako (David) Barry of
Tunnel Hill, GA, and nieces Hannah Barry and Emily Barry (Cole) Morton of
Lithia Springs, GA, and his mother, Sumiko Boles of
Rossville, GA. Ted also leaves behind Draco, the dog he rescued, along with many friends who have loved him since childhood.
A lifelong resident of this area, Ted was born at Camp Lejeune, NC, in 1969. He graduated from Rossville HS and attended West GA College. He first married Teresa Espy, with whom he raised two beautiful daughters Amanda and Madison.
Ted worked hard from age 11, first at Lum's Groceries and later at the Hungry Fisherman. Always good with his hands, with numbers and with tools, Ted trained and worked as a machinist for most of his career (Shaw Industries and Astec Industries) but later fulfilled his dream to become a long haul trucker which he absolutely loved. With his soulmate, Angelia, whom he married in 2024, Ted went on trucking adventures from NYC to Texas and to various parts of the U.S., but later he fully dedicated his life's purpose to take care of his mother, to fulfill a promise to his dad, which gave him peace and satisfaction. Ted had so many plans for a future, to travel on cruises with his wife, to build a deck for his mom, as he looked forward to a well-deserved retirement after working hard his whole life, but God had other plans for him, which includes reuniting with dad sooner than anyone could have expected.
Ted loved the outdoors, Alabama football, tools, guns, jeeps, reading conspiracy theories, working with his hands, and taking care of his family whom he prioritized above everything else. He was smart, funny, irreverent at times, but always loved his family and the Lord, with whom he became closer in recent years.
Ted Boles, passionate about what he believed and believed in, was a dutiful son, protective father, loving husband, and loyal brother who will be dearly, sorely, and terribly missed by those who have been taken aback by the sudden loss of a man who was often larger than life (if not stature). He leaves a void bigger than he could have ever realized in the hearts of family and friends who will say goodbye to him this week. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 3239 Battlefield PKwy,
Fort Oglethorpe, GA, with services on Thursday, January 29, at 2:00 pm. His final resting place will be in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park in
Rossville, GA. May Ted rest in peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior, and in the presence of his beloved earthly dad, whom he has missed but now will be with forever, until the rest of us are reunited with him as well.
