Ted Wayne Embry Jr.

Ted Wayne Embry, Jr., 61, passed away November 24, 2024. Ted was born in Waco, Texas to Donna Mansfield Embry and the late Ted W. Embry, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Holly Jo Embry. Ted proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and later continued his service in a civilian capacity, supervising at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Known for his intellect from an early age, Ted's sister fondly recalls that on his first day of school, he walked home after just an hour, bored with the teacher's lesson. Ted's sharp mind and curiosity continued to shine throughout his life. He loved history, watching documentaries, and listening to music. His biggest pride in life however, was his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Donna Embry; his beloved wife of 35 years, Cynthia R. Embry; sons, Christian P. Embry, Esq., and Trey Embry; sister, Melody Embry; a niece; nephew; and 11 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his "fur babies" Roxy and Pepé.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham Funeral Home,. 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 3pm with Dr. James Baker officiating. The family is inviting friends following the service for a reception, time to pay respects and continue fellowship until 6pm. in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Tabernacle Baptist Church at 717 Whitehurst Landing Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23464. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery, Suffolk.
