Ted Gutch, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Ted spent his formative years in Belleville, NJ and entered the US Army at age 18. He served for 2 years during the Korean Conflict and then attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, NJ, earning a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. At FDU, he met the love of his life, Ruthie. The two spent 66 years together - 37 in West Caldwell, NJ, raising their family and then 29 golden years retired in Venice, Florida.
Ted spent his career working for the Federal Government as an Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. He frequently joked with family and friends that he couldn't share much about his top secret work, otherwise, he might have to kill you.
Ted is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Arthur (Lisa) of East Falmouth, MA, Doug (Sherry) of Orlando, Florida and Brad (Maryanne) of Livingston, NJ; daughter, Suzanne Bandy of Arlington, TX; Sister, Gail Carson, of Bayville, NJ; Seven loving grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 29th at 9 AM at the Venice Presbyterian Church, 825 The Rialto, Venice, FL and a reception will follow at the Waterford Sports Club, 1454 Gleneagles Drive, Venice, FL.
