TED SEXTON MCDOWELL, 75, a lifelong resident of Piedmont, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Piedmont Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence “Shorty” and Delia Hulsey McDowell.
Ted was an active member of Piedmont Church of God until his last illness. He was known for his ability to keep you entertained with stories from the past and quick wit.
He is survived by his close friend and chosen brother, Tommy Downey, and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 13, at 7:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 5-7 PM. Michael Kiser and Rev. David Cox will officiate with Tommy Downey delivering the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Piedmont Rescue Squad or Piedmont Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Reedy, Joey Calvert, Ted Aker, and Mike Tyree.Honorary Pallbearers will be the Piedmont High School Class of 1968.
Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the McDowell Family.
