Ted J. McKenzie

Ted Junior McKenzie of Panama City, FL passed away on January 1, 2025. He was 81.
Ted was born to Buford and Jewell McKenzie on October 4, 1943, in southern Alabama. Not long after, the family moved to Panama City. Ted attended Oakland Terrace Elementary School, Jinks Middle School, and Bay High School. He married the former Nora Dale Pitts on January 1, 1965. Ted spent the majority of his banking career in Northwest Florida.
Ted was exceedingly proud of his three sons, and he was even more proud of his six grandchildren. Ted loved fast cars and could expertly tilt at windmills, especially later in life.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, Buford Ted McKenzie and Jewell Aphfield McKenzie, and his loving wife, Nora Dale Pitts McKenzie. He is survived by his three sons: Kip (Tanya), Dane, Kendall (Seema); and his six grandchildren: Ashley, Garrett, Kiersten, Neil, Dylan, and Anik. He is also survived by his wonderful sister, Bernice McSpadden, and two beautiful nieces: Jennifer Blodgett and Kelly Lovett.
God's purposeful shroud over death and the afterlife is almost absolute. It is still pervious to love. Ted died on his and Dale's 60th wedding anniversary.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405 with Pastor Kip McKenzie officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 3733 US Hwy 231 North, Panama City, FL 32404.
