Teddy Dale Piefer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 3, 2025, at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on September 4, 1949, in Brownfield, Mississippi, Teddy dedicated his life to making cherished memories with his family and friends.
Teddy enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from Moltan in 2015, after also working at Dover. However, his greatest accomplishments and joys came from the love and laughter he shared with his family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending countless hours outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature. A true sports enthusiast, he passionately supported the Tennessee Vols and the New York Yankees, sharing this love of sports with his family.
His greatest pride, however, lay in the time he spent with his family. Teddy was a devoted husband to Cathy Piefer of Pocahontas, who stood by him through thick and thin; a loving father to his daughters Lisa Piefer of Arlington and Michelle Garcia (Juan) of Friendship, and his sons Bryan Piefer of Saulsbury and Todd Piefer (Stephanie) of Biloxi, MS. He was a cherished brother to Lyle Piefer of Savannah and the doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Steven Hopper, Allie, Blake, Maddy, and Emmy Piefer, as well as his great-grandchildren Russell, Anna, and Olivia Hopper. Teddy's warm spirit and ability to connect with anyone he met made him a beloved figure in the community.
His commitment to giving back was evident in his many roles within the local community. Teddy coached softball and served as president of the Park League at Middleton, pouring his heart into mentoring young athletes. He wanted nothing more than to bless others and shared a deep bond with everyone he encountered, always ready with a smile, a helping hand, and an engaging conversation. He was a proud member of Porter's Creek Baptist Church, where he continued to nurture his spirit and that of those around him.
Teddy is predeceased by his father, Frank Piefer, his mother, Ethel Irene Weaver Piefer, and his brothers, Larry and Jimmy Piefer. Although he is now reunited with his loved ones who have passed, his spirit continues to remain vibrant in the hearts of all who knew him.
Teddy's visitation will be held on November 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Bolivar, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. The interment will take place at Porter's Creek Cemetery in Middleton.
As we remember Teddy Dale Piefer, we celebrate a life richly lived, filled with love, laughter, and profound connections that will forever resonate in the lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering familial bonds that will carry on through his children, grandchildren, and the countless friends he made along the way.
