In Loving Memory of Teofilo Galvan Carrillo (a.k.a "Toto")
Teofilo "Toto" Galvan Carrillo, age 86 of Houston entered into eternal rest on June 24, 2025.
Born February 28, 1939, in Venado, San Luis Potosí, Toto lived a full and colorful life surrounded by his 10 kids and over 20 grandchildren.
Toto and Ama were married for over 65 years. During their life together Toto worked a variety of jobs, eventually retiring from the City of Houston. But retirement didn't slow him down. He kept busy around the house, always fixing things (or breaking them just so he could fix them again), and collecting random trinkets to keep in his room. He also enjoyed helping Ama in her garden, arranging flower beds and digging holes for her plants.
Every Sunday, you'd find him at the Pulga (flea market), either selling his treasures or reselling random things he found around the yard, even if it wasn't his. He'd claim "¿Pos pa' qué los dejaron tirados?"
He had a deep love for horses, dancing, socializing, and music. He never met a stranger and loved helping people. One of his favorite past times was playing tricks on his kids & grandkids. Hiding keys from everyone who came to visit was his favorite. Even in the last couple of years when he couldn't walk much anymore, he'd get in his walker and steal keys to hide under his blanket & pillows. He'd also steal his favorite food- bread- and take off in his walker back to his room along with Ama's kitchen towels which he also loved to steal.
Many summers were spent taking his kids/grandkids to Monterrey to visit family and proudly showing them around the city that he loved.
When we picture Toto, we see him just as he loved to be: dressed in a button-down shirt, pressed pants, boots, his hat, and belt - ready to head out to the Pulga.
Even though we will miss him constantly, we know he's in a much better place now, and heaven is a much livelier place with him there.
