Teresa Ilene Bott age 53, passed away in Parowan Utah, after battling many afflictions caused by the hereditary disorder MEN1 on February 29th, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1971, in Redding California to Julie Ilene Smith Bott and Henry Allen Cook.
Teresa was raised in Big Lake, Alaska by her mom Julie and her dad Russ Bott. She graduated from Houston High School with honors. She received a certificate of graduation for completing all four years of Seminary. This is a great achievement as seminary classes in Alaska were early mornings, attended before school started. She attended Ricks College, in Rexburg Idaho. Teresa loved being outdoors and enjoyed the time she spent participating in the ROTC program at Ricks College. She moved to Cedar City, Utah and graduated from Southern Utah University.
After graduation, Teresa moved to Poulsbo, Washington. She lived with her Stepmom Paula Cook and her three children on the family farm. She loved this period of her life the most. She was very involved in helping with the chores and work that came with it and spent much of her time helping raise her younger sisters and brother. She was also a Foster Mom and helped provide shelter and love for many infants and toddlers who needed someone.
Teresa had many talents that she shared freely. She loved to draw and blessed many people with her craft by gifting them one of her sketches of their loved ones or pets. She was an amazing musician. She played the flute and trumpet throughout school. She could pick up any wind instrument and in a short time have it mastered, then she would move on to a different one.
Teresa was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many church callings. She loved doing genealogy, reading the scriptures, and doing temple work. Some of her favorite callings were working on genealogy and teaching primary classes.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Julie Bott; aunt, Joyce Cook; uncles, Dan Smith and Rodney Bott; stepmother, Paula Cook; father, Allen Cook; sister, Christa Keener and most recently her beloved cat, Bergen. She is survived by her dad, Russ Bott, brothers Troy and Allen Cook; sisters Traci (Kris) Brown, Cara Richards, Becke (Jason) Koths, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and her cherished cats Ivy, Charlie and Odin.
Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Parowan Cemetery, at 1:00 p.m.

Teresa was a great friend. I'm so glad I got to meet her when she was in Poulsbo. I loved visiting with her all the time, going to the temple with her, and having her help me with my genealogy. She was a great example to me of strength and faith!! When she moved she would send an inspiring text every day to all her friends. I love them and they have been a great reminder to me of who she is. I know she loves her Savior, she was a great example of Him. She will always be in my thoughts as I go through this earth life and think...What would Teresa do and how would she react. I love you Teresa!!

I got an inspirational text message from her for over 4 years. I still have the last 2 years worth of messages. I am going to save them, so she can continue to inspire me through her love of Jesus Christ.
