Teresa Rose Buschmann, age 88, of Jefferson City, formerly of Freeburg, was born October 23, 1933, at Freeburg, in Osage County, a daughter of Henry Joseph and Gertrude Ann (Richter) Struemph, and passed from this life Monday, September 5, 2022, in StoneBridge-Villa Marie, Jefferson City.
She was united in marriage May 21, 1955, at Freeburg, to Bernard Stephen "Bernie" Buschmann, and to this union, six children were born.
Mrs. Buschmann was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church,and American Legion Post 317 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Freeburg. She enjoyed baking, especially Christmas cookies and red carpet cake, doing cross-stitch and embroidery, and painting ceramics. Teresa was a cancer survivor. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and especially had great pride in her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. During her working life, Teresa was a devoted housewife and homemaker for her husband and family.
Those left to celebrate the life of Mrs. Teresa Buschmann include: Six children, Bruce Buschmann, Brenda Shelton, and Brian Buschmann, all of Blue Springs, and Beth Parrish and friend, Larry Gove, of Linn, Brad Buschmann and wife, Karen, of Westphalia, and Beverly Miller and husband, Michael, of O'Fallon; six grandchildren, Timothy Shelton (Emilee) of Whitestown, Indiana, Eric Shelton (Melissa) of Springfield, Jill Rikard (Tyler) of Linn, Tanner Buschmann (Blair) of Ringgold, Georgia, and Allyson Miller and Laura Miller, both of O'Fallon; six great-grandchildren,
Chloe Rikard, Cooper Rikard, Connor Shelton, Tristan Shelton, Cassidy Shelton, and Everly Shelton; one sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Stratman of Freeburg; brother-in-law, Donnie Schmitz of Freeburg; sister-in-law, Janet Struemph of Fernley, Nevada; nephews; nieces; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; her father, Henry; her mother, Gertrude; siblings and spouses, John "Honse" Struemph, Emil Struemph (Rose), Bernard "Bud" Struemph (Rose), Jim Struemph, Loretta Wegman Klein, Marie Ortbals (Edmund), Catherine "Kate" Wegman (Sylvester "Colonel"), and Cecilia "Ceil" Becker Schmitz (Bob Becker); and brother-in-law, Herb Stratman.
Visitation for Mrs. Teresa Rose Buschmann will be held in Holy Family Catholic Church, 104 Oliver Street, Freeburg, MO 65035, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2022, with her Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. William D. Debo as celebrant under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Interment for Mrs. Buschmann will be next to her beloved husband, Bernie, in Holy Family Cemetery, Freeburg. All are invited to a meal at the Freeburg American Legion after cemetery service.
