Teresa Sylvia Duffy

Teresa Madrigal Duffy passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025 at her
home in Palm Desert, CA. She was 73 years old.
Teresa was born in Berkley, CA on August 19, 1951 to Anthony and Suzanne
Madrigal. She graduated from Redlands High School in 1969 and went on to
earn her Bachelor's Degree in Education at San Diego State University. She
began her teaching career at Coachella Valley High School, where she taught
Special Education and Social Studies for 32 years. It was there where she met
the love of her life, Edward Duffy. They married on April 2, 1977 and just
celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.
If you were lucky enough to know Teri, then you were her friend. She was joyful,
friendly, warm, and bubbly. Teri enjoyed 38 summers in West Yellowstone,
Montana where she and Ed would take their trailer-home. She loved to sell and
gift Mary Kay make-up, make beaded jewelry, travel, go wine-tasting, and of
course go to the casino. Her dog Stella always kept her busy as well.
Teri is survived by her husband, Edward Duffy, step-children Scott Duffy, Mike
Duffy and wife Lisa, Debra Jesse, and Diane Duffy. She had 6 grandchildren,
Kolton and Keenan Duffy, and Courtlyn, Chase, Cade and Clay Wheeler. She
also had 1 great-grandchild with another on the way. Her two sisters and
brother-in-law, Adela and Craig Jones and Maria and Michael Moffett will miss
her dearly, as well as her niece and nephews, Alyssa and Ryan Jones and
Jeffrey Shaffer. She also was Godmother to Valerie and Laura Castro. She also
leaves behind so many friends that to her, were family. She was preceded in
death by her father and mother and her brother Anthony Madrigal Jr.
A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Palm Desert, CA at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at the Reedley
Cemetery in Reedley, CA on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Stroke
Association.
