Terrance “Terry” Gerstbauer, 78, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at home. He was born on June 1, 1947, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Terry was the son of Fabian and Velma Gerstbauer.
He graduated from Penn High School with the class of 1965 and from the Tool and Die Apprenticeship in 1970. For many years, Terry owned and ran his own Tool and die business. In 1994, he moved to Plymouth and bought the Plymouth Speedway, which he ran for 5 years.
On October 27, 1998, he married Sally Kane in Reno, NV. Terry enjoyed tinkering, fixing, and rebuilding cars. Everything from corvettes to Cadillacs.
Terry attended the Plymouth Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Plymouth, and his brother, Timothy Gerstbauer, of Elkhart.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jacquelin Curry.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, 1130 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Deb Cook officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, 1130 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.
