Terrence J Brooks

Fish and game across the state celebrated the passing of Terrence Brooks (87) of Gillett, fearsome hunter and "King of Chute Pond." He died peacefully from a long battle of suffering with excessive humility.
Born at home March 12, 1936, he remained a lifelong resident of Gillett. He married Janalee Raddant of Shawano in 1963 and raised three children. He was a faithful and dedicated member of St. John Catholic Church his entire life.
Terry was happiest when hunting and fishing; and spent much of his life in the outdoors. He was particularly successful as a whitetail hunter and musky fisherman, bagging hundreds of each. He wished to be remembered as "an excellent fisherman."
Ever hardworking, he served many faithful years at Mirro and NuLine in Suring. He retired from a quality control position, where he enjoyed finding other people's mistakes.
Terry is survived by his patient wife Janalee (Raddant) Brooks, children Rebecca (Jon) Holmes, Roberta (Timothy) Richards, and Timothy (Lindsay) Brooks; Half-siblings Patrick (Corrine) Moynihan, Jeanne (Jerry) Barr, Marge Herald, Terry (Cindy) Moynihan, Beth (Bruce) Cisar, Colleen (Pete) Schneider, Corinne (John) O'Neil; granddaughters Alecia & Kristin, Caroline & Margaret. Terry was preceded in death by his beloved mother Florence Brooks and son-in-law Jon Holmes. His family would like to thank Woodside, Unity, Ellie & Ron, and Madonna for their help during this difficult time.
Visitation for Terry will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church, 127 S Garden Ave, Gillett, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Francis Dias. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Gillett.
