Terrence Eugene Springer, born on February 13, 1959, to Elder George Harris Springer, Jr. and Carolyn Sue (Brown) Springer, passed away on April 7, 2023.
When they defined hospitality as friendly and generous, the reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers; they could have included the name Terrence. Terrence (Terry T) wore hospitality as a garment – never a dull moment in his presence. He was always willing to serve and give to the best of his ability. Terry T attended Lincoln, Oakhill, and Central High School in Evansville and Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. Terrence joined McFarland Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and sang in the Youth Choir.
Terrence was born in Vanderburgh County and later resided in Delaware, Marion, and Lake counties. His culinary skills were approved and recognized by many elite organizations. Terrence was no respecter of persons – he prepared meals for the exclusive as well as the destitute. Terry T loved his family dearly.
Terrence was preceded in death by his parents: Carolyn Sue (Brown) and Elder George Harris Springer, Jr.; brother: George Nathan Springer; grandparents: Charles General II, Ruth Hart Brown, George Harris Springer, Sr., and Randia Bell Wilkins
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister: Demetria Watts; nieces: Denise Madison and Summer Morgan; daughter: Ronesha Melvin (whom he loved and called "my baby girl") and her children: Jaihier Jordon, Malachai Vance, Kamariya Vance; aunts: Luvenia Rouse, Mary Esther Meriwether, Shirley Brown, and Virginia Lee; uncles: Charles G Brown III and Reginald Raye Brown; a multitude of cousins and a host of dear friends.
The sunset and evening star had one clear call: Terrence Springer is his name.
