Terry Eldon Carlson, age 60, passed away on October 7, 2025, following a short illness he had recently contracted.
Terry was born on February 3, 1965, to Eldon L. and Charlene T. Carlson. Terry was born with a birth defect that involved his hearing. Although he required the use of a hearing aid throughout his life, he never allowed it to stop him from pursuing whatever he wanted.
Terry was very family-oriented. He enjoyed spending holidays, vacations, Sunday football games, and other occasions when the family would get together. He was an avid outdoorsman. He designed and built his own slalom water ski, which he used many times at Bear Lake. Downhill snow skiing was a passion of his. It was the challenge of taking on the face of the mountain or jumping off the cliffs that thrilled him. Hunting seasons were always a favorite time, staying with family and friends in Delta, Utah. An avid bowler, he was a league member for many seasons. Golfing anytime, anywhere was a favorite pastime of his. He enjoyed the competitive edge he acquired. He experienced happiness when greeted by the animals he had loved, Shadow, Brandy and Sandy who had loved him throughout his life.
His full-size Ford 4x4 truck was his pride and joy. Terry spent many hours upgrading the stereo sound system, adding new 4x4 specialty parts, and a powerful motor, giving it a unique sound that was instantly recognized from blocks away. Easter Jeep Safari, held in Moab, Utah, was an annual event he eagerly anticipated with family and friends. He was very proud of his truck's off-road performance as it tackled the most difficult terrains.
Terry was a graduate of Cottonwood High School. He received many outstanding awards. He considered his Eagle Scout to be one of his greatest accomplishments. He was employed at Larry Miller Chrysler Service Department for many years. Many customers requested that he personally work on their vehicle due to his meticulous work. He also worked as a groundskeeper at private country clubs. Preparing the greens for a golf tournament was a specialty of his. He painted residential properties for several years. His proficiency, customer relations, and work ethic kept him in high demand by many clients. He was able to pursue one of his biggest dreams when he obtained his CDL license. He considered himself very fortunate to be paid for doing something he thoroughly enjoyed: driving across the country as a long-haul truck driver. He had several hobbies. Wood crafting was one of his passions along with fishing, reading any book that came his way. Many gifts were designed and handcrafted by Terry. Several of his gifts are still displayed and enjoyed by those lucky enough to receive one of his handmade creations.
Terry's family and many lifelong friends will miss his amazing personality, willingness to help others, and especially his contagious laugh.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon L. Carlson; his sister, Christie Carlson (Toone); his grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his mother, Charlene Townsend Carlson, sister Cori L. Carlson (Nunley) Teron Arrington, grandson and many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him always, but will never forget what he brought to each of their hearts.
