Terry John Kohler, a.k.a. “Shorty”, age 71, of Linesville went home to Jesus on Friday, April 18, 2025.
Born in Meadville on July 31, 1953, he was the only child of Margaret E. (Lowing) and John H. Kohler, Jr. A graduate of the former Linesville-Conneaut Summit High School, who during his senior year, also attended Advance Science Institute classes at Allegheny College. Terry was a Computer Science graduate of Edinboro State University and also completed 3 years at Cleveland State University, majoring in Chemistry. Terry was previously employed 12 years as a Lab Technician with the former Avtex Fibers Inc. of Meadville, and retired as QC Supervisor from Day-Glo Color Corp., Cleveland, OH after 32 years of service. He also was a former Sound System Operator in several of the local area churches.
Terry married Shirley Anne Lauffer of Conneaut Lake on May 14, 1971 and the only thing that he loved more than Shirley was Coca Cola! He was best known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed “Beatles” music, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, Vetting and the great outdoors! He was always working on a “Do-it-Yourself” home improvement project. Together, he and Shirley spent 5 years building their home.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Terry John Kohler, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Hartstown and Rick Lee Kohler and his wife, Sommer, of Linesville; six grandchildren, John, Elise, Kevin, Devyn, Jaclyn and Alex Kohler; and several cousins.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Messerall officiating. Additional calling will be Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be private in Conneaut Center Cemetery, Linesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice as the Lord leads you.
