Terry Parnell, 74, husband of fifty-six years to Diane Coffman Parnell, died Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his residence. Born January 11, 1951 in Cincinnati, he was the son of the late Albert Edward and Bertha Mae Montgomery Parnell. He was a retired self-employed concrete contractor. When he wasn't working, Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, antiquing, ice skating on the creek, and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors other than his wife include two daughters: Tina (the late Tim) Stratton of Parksville and Melissa Parnell (Chris) Gribbins of Harrodsburg; one son Charlie Ritchie of Lexington; one brother Elmer (Carol) Parnell of Cincinnati; five sisters: Pat Penwell of Harrison, IN, Debbie Cox of Sunrise, IN, Theresa Schumann of Moores Hill, IN, Darla Miller of Vevay, IN, and Annette Parnell of Moores Hill, IN; four grandchildren: Jake Conley, Eric (Brittany) Newby, Hannah (David) Moore, Nate Stratton, and Jessica (Patrick) Holt; fifteen great grandchildren: Lexi, Terry Lee, LeeAnn, Annaleigh, Isaac, Jace, Landen E., Braylen, Ava, Abel, Ellie, Corbin, Maverick, Lance, and Landon R., and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry Edward Parnell and Michael Gayle Parnell; and one sister Linda Lou Phelps.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Lonnie Goodin officiating. Burial will be in HillCrest Cemetery in Perryville with Chris Gribbins, Jake Conley, Eric Newby, Charlie Ritchie, Nate Stratton, Terry Lee Ritchie, Jace Ritchie and David Moore serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Sexton, Richard Watts, Ezra Hopper, David Cummins, Lee Comley, and Terry's nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
