Terry Joe Roberts, 76, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home in Sedalia. He was born on February 21, 1949 in Sedalia, the son of Paul Edward Roberts Sr. and Georgetta Marie (Jackson) Roberts, who preceded him in death.
On August 4, 1978 in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Sherry Denise Ricker, who resides in the home.
Mr. Roberts worked for the city of Sedalia for approximately 15 years. He was a self contractor for many years and finally retired from the Missouri state Fairgrounds, where he worked for 20 years. Mr Roberts hobbies included fishing, watching NASCAR, working on vehicles, street and hobby stock and amateur racing with his brothers. He loved talking on his CB radio with his brother Dennis and friends; his handle was "mudstomper." He also enjoyed going to the creek with family and friends and listening to music and loved his animals.
In addition to his wife Sherry, Terry is survived by two sons, Shawn Roberts (Lori) and Shane Roberts (Katie) and a daughter, Amy Denise Roberts-Barton (Aaron) all of Sedalia; seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Destany, Lyle, Taylor, Kaitlin, Desirea, Landen Roberts; close friend, Jacolby Monteer; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Delores Maples, Alice Todd, Charlotte Ramey, Virginia Roberts, and Sue Lynn Roberts; and a brother, Dennis Roberts.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a grandson, Daylon Parish; three brothers, Paul "Smokey" Roberts, Jr., Bobby Gene Roberts, and Byron Leroy Roberts; and a sister, Rosalee Ramey.
A Celebration of Life gathering with family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Rea Funeral Chapel.
