Terry "Bubba" Paul Schuettpelz, age 62 of Suring, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital with his family and friends surrounding him with love. Bubba was born on October 8, 1962 to the late Chester and Luella (Quandt) Schuettpelz. He attended St John Lutheran School in Hayes and graduated from Suring High School with the class of 1980.
He started working at Chet's Service as a young boy gaining an exemplary work ethic and that you work first and play second. He excelled at both. He started driving truck in the mid 1980's teaming with Bob "RJ" School. He quickly found his work passion. He worked at Graetz Mfg in the pallet shop and was given the opportunity to start driving over the road, he took it and never looked back. He drove over the road until Dana got involved in school activities. Wanting to be home to support her, he worked for Gillett Cement and Alter Metals until her junior year of high school. In April 2005, he had the opportunity to purchase a big rig and he leased on with Dave Rabas & Son in Spruce and when Chad took over, he stayed leased on with Chad Rabas Express. He was looking forward to parking the truck on December 20th this year and taking the winter off.
His truck was the love of his life, but it didn't compare to the love for his family. His granddaughters had their Papa wrapped around their little finger and he would do anything for them. The truck was show and tell for Madysen at St Anthony School. He also offered rides to school to be auctioned off for the annual School Fund Raiser Auction. Any chance he had to teach kids about the industry, he took it.
He became a member of the Suring Volunteer Fire Department in 1983 and became Captain in 1990. He may have missed helping fight some fires, but he always made sure to be home for the Breed 4th of July parade to haul the Rio and he was always home to help with the Annual Dance.
Terry was united in marriage to Marcie "Mouse" Ziereis on May 16, 1992. They weathered the severe storm that day and continued to survive storms for the next 32 years. He immediately went from being Bubba to Dad for Dana.
Terry was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring, recently serving as Elder. His faith was extremely important to him, and he relied on God's guidance in his everyday life.
He was a member of the Suring Antique Tractor Association and Suring Sportsmen's Club. He was an avid deer hunter and looked forward to the annual ice fishing weekend. He and Marcie enjoyed an occasional motorcycle trip on the Harleys and were looking forward to riding more in the upcoming years.
Terry is survived by his wife, Marcie "Mouse"; daughter, Dana; granddaughters, Madysen and Charlotte; brother, Thomas Schuettpelz; brother-in-law, Mike (Kathy) Ziereis; beloved cat, Skittles. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Sharon Ziereis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Suring from 4 pm to 8 pm. Visitation continues on Saturday, November 16, 2024 Mt.
