Terry Simmons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Kansas City on Mar. 6, 2026.
Terry Alan Simmons, MD, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away on March 3, with his devoted wife, Stacy, by his side. He was born on April 17, 1965, in Lockport, New York, to William and Mary Ann Simmons.

Terry grew up with a strong sense of family that remained the center of his life. He shared a lifelong bond with his brother, Mark Simmons of Phoenix, Arizona. From an early age, Terry carried with him the values of dedication, kindness, and loyalty that would define the man he became.

Terry earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and completed his family practice residency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, providing care to military members and their families at Mannheim Health Clinic in Germany and later at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Following his military service, Terry continued his commitment to caring for others at Family Medical Group at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. For more than 20 years, he served his patients with compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to their well-being.

Yet above all his accomplishments, the pride and joy of Terry's life was his family. He was a family man in the truest sense-devoted, steady, and deeply loving.

Terry shared a wonderful life with his beloved spouse, Stacy Simmons, in Parkville, Missouri. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support for their children, Cole Simmons, age 23, and Carson Simmons, age 21, who were the light of their lives. Whether cheering them on, offering guidance, or simply spending time together, Terry's greatest happiness came from being present with his family.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his dedication to those he served, and his deep love for the people closest to him. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

A private interment ceremony will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery. A celebration of Terry's life is planned for May, with details to be shared with family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many patients whose lives he improved through his care and kindness.

My heart is broken over the loss of my dear brother-in-law. Terry was a devoted husband to my sister Stacy for 25 years. He was also the most loving, hands-on father to my nephews Cole and Carson. Everything he did reflected how deeply he loved his family. Whatever Cole and Carson were passionate about quickly became Terry´s passion too. He showed up for everything, big or small, because nothing mattered more to him than Stacy and his boys. Terry was always present-encouraging, guiding, and loving his boys every step of the way. I will always admire the life he built with Stacy and the incredible example he set for Cole and Carson.

Our family is small, and Terry´s presence in it was incredibly important. He brought strength, a dry sense of humor, and a steady love that held everyone close. He had a way of making every member of our family feel supported, and deeply loved. His kindness and quiet dedication to the people he loved will always stay with us.

Stacy, Cole, and Carson-please know that you are surrounded by love. Terry´s legacy lives on in the two wonderful young men he raised and in the countless memories he created with all of us. I will always be grateful to have had Terry as family, and he will forever hold a big place in my heart.
