Terry Joe Wright, born on July 31, 1980, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. He faced his final days with remarkable courage, battling ALS for four years without complaint. Terry was known for his warm spirit, as he never met a stranger and would engage anyone in conversation. A true jack of all trades, Terry's versatility was evident in many aspects of his life.
He was a devoted family man, deeply cherished by his wife, Kathleen Wright, and his children: daughters Madyson Duncan and Mary Ann Proctor; sons Blake Allen Wright and Clayton Joe Wright. Terry also took great pride in being a stepfather to J.R. (Elsa) Arteaga, and Sara Arteaga (Donnie)-Dennison, and Crystal Arteaga (Tim) Holder. His legacy will continue through his grandchildren: Justin Wright, Bryan Juan Refugio Arteaga, Andrew Allan Arteaga, Daniel Salvador Arteaga, Logan Alexander Arteaga, and Caden Gabriel Arteaga.
Terry was the beloved son of Eddie Ray Wright and Dottie June Wright. He shared a special bond with his siblings: Barry Joe (Meagan) Wright, and sisters Samantha (Ben) Clifton, Cristina (Tyrome Skinner) Wright, and Angela (Jamie Sachleben) Wright. He was preceded in death by his brother Stacy Wright, whose memory he carried with him.
In addition to his devotion to family, Terry had a wide array of interests. He loved video games and was an avid sports fan, showing unwavering support for the UK Wildcats and the Cincinnati Bengals. His affection extended to his pets, Rexx & Patch, and his cat Kiki, who brought him joy and companionship.
Visitation services will be held on February 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM at the same location.
Terry Joe Wright will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his love for life, and his unwavering dedication to those around him. His spirit will continue to shine through the many lives he touched.
