Thelma Romaine DeLong

Thelma Romaine DeLong, 72, of Quarryville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was just 19 days short of celebrating 50 years of marriage with her husband, Henry S. DeLong, Jr., of Quarryville.
Born in West Fallowfield Township, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Sylvester Blank and Roberta Stoltzfus (Fisher) Blank.
Thelma was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School, class of 1970. She was employed first by Victor Weaver, of New Holland, and later Little Britain Ag Supply, retiring with 25 years of service.
Thelma had a heart for others. She reached out to many people over the years and helped many children with disabilities by providing respite care for their families. Thelma enjoyed her plants, flowers, and birds in her yard. She also loved to camp and travel, and especially enjoyed riding and traveling on her motorcycle. Thelma had a deep love for the Lord and was a devoted member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church. She is regarded by her family as having been an amazing, wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Michael H. (Angie) DeLong, of Durant, OK, and Gary H. DeLong, of Lancaster; a daughter, Lisa (Drew) Kibler, of Washington Boro; grandchildren, Kanyon and Piper DeLong, of Durant, OK, and Cali, Braeton, Reed, and Haddie Kibler, all of Washington Boro; brothers, Irvin (Ruthie) Blank, of Cochranville, Harold (Joann) Blank, of Lancaster, Calvin (Donna) Blank, of Cochranville, and James (Kathy) Blank, of Quarryville; and a sister, Doris (Allon) Lefever, of Lancaster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Buckwalter.
A Celebration of Thelma's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 8, at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, 611 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA 17566, with a time of visitation at the church from 10 AM – 11 AM. Following the service, all are invited to a luncheon at the church.
Private interment will take place in Quarryville Cemetery.
