Thelma Spencer

SPENCER THELMA, 82 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on November 22nd 2025 at Highland Health and Rehab with her family by her side.
Thelma was the most caring, loving, thoughtful mom, grandma, wife, sister. She loved her family with her whole heart; she enjoyed spending time with them and was crazy over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved working her crossword puzzles, watching her soap operas and Hallmark Channel.
Thelma was born to the late Elenora and Russell Braun on July 16, 1943. She was born in the neighborhood of Germantown where she grew up and worked at Germantown Cafe for 32 years, she was an avid Louisville Cardinal Fan and would never miss a game when they were on.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Elzie Dean Spencer Sr. Her parents Elenora and Russell Braun, Sister Shirley Engle and brother Arnold Braun, Sister-in-law Bonnie Braun. Step dad Jim Peak.
Thelma is survived by her 5 children, Elzie Dean Spencer Jr. (Stacy) Kimberly Kelly (Lee) Rhonda Baumgardner (Chris) Stephanie Spencer (Richard) and Michelle Spencer, Grandchildren; Josh Spencer, Sandy Podkrajac (Chris), Ronnie Kelly (Roxanne), Austin Kelly, Myranda Spencer, Cheyenne Conn (Samantha), Nicole Pendleton (Dylan), David Pendleton (Tiffany), Tanna Floyd (Kyle), Derrick Pendleton (Jessica), 15 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. She is also survived by her sister Laverne Green and Brother Gary Braun (Jan), her companion of 19 years Larry Vowels along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends she called family.
Visitation for Thelma will be held from 3-7 PM on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 also at Bosse Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow in St. Stephen Cemetery alongside her husband.
