Theodore W. (Ted) Wright passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025.
He was born on March 7, 1942 in Ridgely, Maryland, the son of Wilmer "Punch" Wright and Mildred Gadow Wright.
He graduated from Federalsburg High School with the class of 1960. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Westover A.F.B. in Chicopee Falls, MA. where he met the love of his life and was married for 61 years. After his discharge from the military he worked at Moore Drop Forging in Springfield, MA. as a foreman. He lived in Ludlow, MA. for 30 years before moving back to Maryland in 1997.
He was a member of American Legion Post 243 in Hurlock, MD where he was the past Commander. He was also the past Southeastern Shore District Commander and he belonged to the Poor Boys Yacht Club.
Ted enjoyed fishing, crabbing and skeet shooting. He could fix anything and loved carpentry and doing puzzles and reading. He took excellent care of his home and property and loved working outdoors.
Ted especially loved to have family dinners and eat crabs, and to sit on the front porch swing and watch the deer come through the yard in the evening. He always looked forward to his weekly breakfasts with his buddy CJ. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Franny Wright, his nephew Kenny Lee Hurlock and his wife Lisa, sister-in-law Helen Golemo, brother-in-law Joseph Green and his wife Rose and brother-in-law Robert Green.
He leaves his beloved niece and nephews, Debbie Green, Joe Green, Jr., Michael Green, Lee Hurlock and his wife Bethany and Cory Hurlock.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Gadow Wright and father Wilmer "Punch" Wright, a sister Beverly Hurlock, brother-in-law George Green, brother-in-law John Golemo, and brother-in-law Kenneth Hurlock.
Ted will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband and friend.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, MD with Pastor Marie Coulbourne officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
