Theresa Figaniak

Theresa E. (nee Damiani), of the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the age of 91.

Theresa was described as the "perfect mom and grandmom". She loved to be the house where her children and all the kids from the neighborhood gathered. A great cook and master baker, she always made sure no one went hungry. She would spend afternoons teaching her grandchildren and their friends how to play card games while she was making them pizza frites. Holidays were a special time for Theresa as her doors were open for all her neighbors as well as her family. One of her favorite days was when they all would gather to make wine. A regular communicant, she was deeply committed to her faith. She had an ever growing list of people for whom she prayed the rosary on a daily basis. As a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America, Theresa would oftentimes be found in the kitchen of her beloved parish of St. Dominic Church where she would regularly volunteer for community events and fundraisers. When she wasn't feeding her friends and neighbors, she had a great interest in art and enjoyed painting.

Beloved wife of the late Charles J. Figaniak; Cherished mother of Karen, Charles (Helen Mary), Jennifer Jerome and the late David (Ann); Devoted grandmother of Matthew, Sinead, John-Thomas (Hayat), Dean Eric, Anthony, Alexis, Madison, Frankie, Gianna, Russell and Tessa; loving great-grandmother of Emma, Cameron, Mia and Scottie K; she was predeceased by her 4 brothers and 4 sisters; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends and members of the Catholic Daughter's of America, St. Dominic Court #2222 are invited to offer condolences to her family on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Dominic Church, 8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Dominic Cemetery.
