It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa (Terry) Wescott, a dedicated wife, beloved and avid reader, who touched the lives of countless students throughout her Teaching Career in the Penn-Delco School District in Aston PA. Terry departed from our midst on the 9th of May in Naples, Florida at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of knowledge, compassion, and a profound love for literature.
Born on 03 January 1950 in Lewes, Delaware to Gertrude and John Bennett. Terry was married to William Wescott in Seaford Delaware on 22 August 1970. She pursued her passion for literature, earning a Masters' degree in English literature from Our Lady of Angels College (now Neumann College) graduating summa cum laude in 1976.
In her personal life, Terry was a devoted wife and mother, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend. Her unwavering support and unwavering love for her family and friends were the pillars that grounded her. She leaves behind beautiful memories and a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She resided in Aston PA until moving to Naples, Florida after Williams passing in 2013.
Terry is survived by her son, Jason Wescott, her two grandsons, Courtland Wescott, Alexander Wescott and her beloved sister, Margaret (Peggy) Stoeckinger.
Relatives and friends are invited to Terry's service on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM at Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, Norwood, PA. Prayers will begin at 11:00 AM followed by interment in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Literacy Volunteers of Collier County.
May her soul rest in eternal peace as her love for literature continues to inspire and guide us all.
