Therese B. Charest, 72, of Nashua passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
Therese was born on March 2, 1950, in Sherbrook, Quebec to the late Honore and Emilia (Provencher) Gauthier. She was the widow of Lucien Charest with whom she shared 33 years of marriage prior to his passing in October of 2004.
Therese was a graduate of St. Louis de Gonzague High School of Nashua in June 1969.
For many years she was employed by JF Thom McCann and the City of Nashua until her retirement in 2016.
Therese lived a life marked by service, adventure, and the joy found in celebrating with those she loved. Whether it was hosting large holiday parties at her house, going on spontaneous adventures, or spending time at her year-round spot at The Friendly Beaver Campground in New Boston, she was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. Terry was always up for a trip to the casino, a concert (especially Luke Bryan), a craft fair or bingo. A truly compassionate soul, she regularly gave of her time to Project of Love, Toys for TOTs, and other charitable causes. She served for many years as a Knights of Columbus Columbiette for Council 122 where she found delight in organizing and catering events and spent many nights lighting up the dance floor line dancing with her husband.
Terry was always most vibrant and happiest in the company of others. She shared a longtime friendship and countless, memory-filled outings with her best friend Linda. She was an active member of St Louis' church community and an avid traveler. Terry was known for her generous spirit and thoughtful gift giving. She had a strong desire to share what she had with friends and strangers alike. Terry left those who knew her grateful for the greatest gift she had to give: herself.
Therese is survived by her sons Michael and Colleen Charest of Goffstown, Eric and Danielle Charest of Nashua, her brothers Gerard Gauthier and Andre Gauthier, her sisters Claire Gauthier and Helene Beloin, 11 grandchildren, Megan, Logan, Abby, Donald, Madeline, Dorothy, Emma, Jack, Andrew, Charlotte and Garrett, and 2 great-grandchildren Luca and Shiloh.
In addition to her husband Lucien, she was predeceased by her sisters Lucille, Gisele, Denise and her brother Gilles.
Relatives and friends are invited to Therese's visitation on FRIDAY, March 10th from 4 until 8 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her funeral mass will be held on SATURDAY, March 11th at 10 AM at St. Louis Church. 48 West Hollis Street in Nashua.
