Therese Dale Fitzgerald

Therese Fitzgerald, 63, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022. Therese was born on November 17, 1958 to Edward Lee Cantrell and Vurline Wallace in Grundy, Virginia.
Therese was married for 30 years, and during that time she raised three boys, and cared for her husband Edward. Therese was known for her love of her family, and her love of animals. Over the years she cared for not only her family but, cared and adored all of her dogs of the past and present. She had a deep love and connection to her sister Sandy, and Sandy's daughter Cassandra. Both of whom still reside in Therese's childhood home in Virginia. Therese immensely enjoyed caring, loving, and providing comfort to her family. Always wanting grandchildren, last year, she received her wish with the addition of Amaya into the family circle.
Therese kept herself busy by making her family happy, while also gardening, hand making clothes for her dogs ("the pups" Petals, Zoey, Kamilah, Sierra, Gracie, Snuffles, and Pixie), cooking, crafts, making improvement to her home, and socializing with her numerous friends that she had made during her life.
Therese was diagnosed with cancer in 2015, battled the disease for six-years and almost successfully defeating the disease this year. If having cancer was not enough, she contracted Covid in January of last year. She fought and beat that disease, making a full recovering over a five-month period. Therese never gave up hope, always fighting her medical conditions, for the love of her family. Wanting to be there for them no matter what the cost.
Therese's time with us was entirely too short, however her loving personality and character will always be present in the hearts of her husband and immediate family, friends, and the people she cared for. She will be missed and never forgotten.
Therese Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vurline Cantrell.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband, Edward Fitzgerald; her children 3 sons, Kegan and his wife Ivanna, Kelan and Shannon; and her 3 grandchildren, Amaya, Felicity and Lorenzo; her sister, Sandy; her niece, Cassandra.
