Therese Shimogaki Wuthier

Funeral services for Teri Wuthier, 70-year-old Buffalo, Wyoming resident who passed away suddenly early Thursday morning, will be held Saturday, May 18th, 10:00 am at Summit Wesleyan Church with Pastor Stephen Martin officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations in Teri's memory may be made to the Johnson County Library at 171 N. Adams in Buffalo, Wyoming. Therese Shimogaki Wuthier was born on May 17, 1953, in Basin, Wyoming to Hauruki and Eleanor Hirasawa Shimogaki. She grew up and went to school in Basin and graduated from Basin High School with the class of 1971. After high school she attended the University of Wyoming where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1975. Her first teaching job was in the Glendo, Wyoming School District where she taught for a few years. She moved to Buffalo in the late 1970's where she was a Special Education teacher for a couple years before she went into the elementary school grades. She was married on December 23, 1983, in Buffalo to Steve Wuthier and they made their home on the family ranch. Teri retired in 2014 after 39 years of teaching. She continued living in Buffalo until her death.
Teri enjoyed sewing, crafts, knitting and tea with her friends. She was part of the Retired Readers Reading group. She was a member of the Summit Wesleyan Church and enjoyed volunteering at the County Library. She is survived by her husband Steve of Buffalo; one brother Tyrus Shimogaki of Missoula, Montana and a great host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
