Thomas J. Bero

Thomas J. Bero, 61, of Marinette, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loved ones on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 after a long fought battle with cancer. He was born June 9, 1963 to Vernon and Betty Bero in Green Bay where he spent his early life. Tom was a graduate of Green Bay West High School and later attended NWTC. He had first worked for Gold Bond Ice Cream in Green Bay and was a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Ledgeview. After moving to Marinette, he spent most of his remaining employment career with Enstrom Helicopter in Menominee. Tom married his soulmate, Lana Bero, on June 7, 2008.
Tom was a gifted musician who sang and played several instruments. He often provided DJ services and enjoyed karaoke. He was an active member of the Marinette and Green Bay Moose Lodges and enjoyed fishing and teaching hunter safety courses for the DNR in some of his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Lana; children, Matt (Paula) Bero, Megan (Adam) Bero, Haleigh Nelson and Cole Nelson, along with grandchildren, Callie Nelson-Wortner, Mateo Bero, Kylie Knox and Aaliyah Winkler. He is further survived by sisters and brothers, Lynn (Vern) Doxtator, Vernon "Bud" Bero, Michael (Barb) Bero and Holly (Dave) Schaetz; a brother-in-law, Tony (Debbie) McDonald; a sister-in-law, Ann (Mike) McDonald; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Brad Witbro.
Visitation will be at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home on Saturday, January 11, 2025 beginning at 12 noon. A Moose Lodge service and memorial will follow at 3 p.m.
