James "Jim" Bero, 84, passed away on January 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 5, 1941 to Charles and Florence Bero. Jim graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1960 where he met the love of his life, Meredith "Mitzi" Landry. Jim and Mitzi were married on August 11, 1962, they enjoyed 61 beautiful years together before Mitzi passed away in February of 2023.

Jim worked as an electrician at FMC/Hudson Sharpe and retired after 37 years. After retirement, Jim and Mitzi spent their winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where he sang with the Four Winds Barbershop Chorus and met many treasured friends. In his younger years, he was a Square Dance Caller for Kool City Squares and Wagon Wheelers.

Jim is survived by his children: Tammy (John) Leurquin, Amy (Chris) Larson, and Crystal (Tim) Winter; grandchildren: Nick Larson, Kiara (Alex) Dammen, Ryan Larson, Marisa (John) Kehoe, Devin (Kiyanna) Winter, Kelsie Leurquin, and Dylon Winter; great grandchildren: Peyton and Greyson Winter, Maizie and Tatum Dammen, and Baby Girl Kehoe. He is further survived by his sister, Shirley Drace; brother, Butch (Sue) Bero; in-laws, Jan Bero, Marge Bero, Sue (Phil) Young and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Mitzi's parents, Brad (Bernie) Landry; his brothers and sisters, Anita (John) Gore, Ken Bero, Wayne (Jackie) Bero, Vernon (Betty) Bero, Cletus (Pat) Bero, Donna (Don) VanEgeren, Jerry Bero, Bill Bero, Chuck (Carol) Bero; in-laws, Barb (Pete) Greene, and Charlie Drace.

One of Jim's greatest joys in life was his family and time spent with them up at the cottage. He never missed a ball game, dance recital, band concert or anything one of his daughters or grandchildren were involved in.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm with a memorial service at 12:30 pm at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay.

The family would like to thank Lyndahl Funeral Home and Dr. Jenna Rust, Prevea Home Health, and Unity Hospice for making Jim's final days more comfortable.
