Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory - EufaulaThomas Lee Buie, 75, of Ft. Smith, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Thomas was born on July 7, 1950 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Leonard Warren and Mary Nell (Timothy) Buie. He attended school in Hartshorne. In 1966, Thomas married Ruth Ann Wind. They have been happily married for fifty-four years. Thomas worked as a factory worker at Color Tech for several years, then at South West Times Newspaper in Ft. Smith for thirteen years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing and playing softball. Thomas put together a family softball team that he coached and played on.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Ann Buie; sons: Thomas Buie, Jr. and spouse Krista and Robert Buie and spouse Tammy; daughter, Loretta Jones and spouse Larry, all of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; sisters: Janice Smith, of Ft. Smith, AR and Pattie Cooksey and spouse, William, of Greenwood, AR; aunt, Stella Feeling and spouse, Jack, of Eufaula; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary Buie.
A wake service will be held at 7:00p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Okfuskee Indian Baptist Church with Dr. Roley McIntosh speaking. A funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Okfuskee Indian Baptist Church with Tom Pickering officiating. Pallbearer will be Christopher Buie, Jordan Fortney, Aaron Bridges, Dakota Buie, and Christopher Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be all his granddaughters.
