Thomas W. Carson, 77, of Salisbury and formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Brigham Manor in Newburyport. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late James and Helene (Dzioba) Carson.
A proud lifelong resident of Lawrence, Thomas graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967. Shortly after, he was drafted into the Vietnam War and served honorably overseas, stationed in Baumholder, Germany for two years. Upon returning home, Thomas dedicated 25 years of service to the City of Lawrence Department of Public Works as a heavy equipment operator-a role he held with great pride and commitment.
Thomas was an avid fisherman, often found casting lines at Forest Lake or surf fishing along the coast. A skilled pool player, he spent many evenings at the British Club on Cambridge Street in Lawrence, where he was a longtime member. Above all, Thomas cherished his family and the time spent with them.
Thomas was the best father a child could ever ask for and an even better grandfather, whose love and warmth touched everyone around him. He cherished his daughter, Erin, and took immense pride in his grandchildren, Jarred, Lia, and Shane, who brought him endless joy. To his son-in-law, David, he was a true father figure, offering guidance and support that filled a profound void. He carried the loss of his beloved children, Amy and Tom, in his heart every day. Now at rest, he is together again with his daughter, Amy, and son, Tom, watching over us with love.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin Carson Meehan and her husband David of New Hampshire; his brother Michael J. Carson of Methuen; his sister Donna Carson Toscano of Miami, FL; and his beloved grandchildren Jarred, Lia, and Shane. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Thomas was predeceased by his son Thomas Carson II, his daughter Amy Carson, his sister Patricia Graham, and his brother James M. Carson.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street,
Methuen, MA. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 24th at St. Patrick Parish, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA, with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
