THOMAS “TOM” EBNER
Thomas John “Tom” Ebner Lt. Colonel USMC, Retired age 91 died Thursday June 5, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Ebner was born on August 18, 1933 in Portland, Oregon to the late Dr. Clement John Ebner, and Dorathy Nathman Ebner. He was a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church. Mr. Ebner was graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in Forest Engineering and Naval Science. He later completed his Masters at the University of Oregon. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran having also served as a USMC Rifle Team Member. He was also retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation. Mr. Ebner was also a licensed multi-engine pilot with instrument ratings, and a cross country skier.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Serwold, and Arlene Ebner, and his brother, David M. Ebner. Survivors include his wife Doris Ebner, sisters, Claire Abel, Susan Ebner, Nancy Erickson, and Mary Frances Newhouse, (Ric) and one brother, Stephen Ebner, (Susan).
