Thomas Lee Edmonds

Thomas Lee Edmonds (Tommy) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family the morning of April 11, 2022, at the age of 68. Thomas was preceded in death by his Father Robert Edmonds and Brother Patrick Edmonds. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Janet. His children, son Thomas Edmonds (Toby), daughter Kristie Alumbaugh and husband Nathan, and son Michael Edmonds and wife Sarah. Thomas also loved his 11 grandchildren dearly (who called him ), Carly Edmonds, Chase Alumbaugh, MacKenzie Baker, Ashleigh Alumbaugh and fiancé Austin, Gracie Edmonds, Eric Alumbaugh, Taylor Edmonds, Dylan Edmonds, Aiyanna Edmonds, and Kyler Edmonds. Mother Effie Edmonds, brother Michael Edmonds, sister Cindy Reichert, and lots of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Tommy.
Thomas was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Springfield. He served in the Air Force for a short time and trained as a paratrooper. Thomas and Janet were married on September 15, 1975, on the Finley River. They enjoyed forty-six years of marriage and raised three children. He worked as an Insurance Appraiser and retired in 2003. Thomas was a man of God. He was a Deacon and worshiped at Faith Baptist Church in Springfield. Throughout the years he devoted his time volunteering at Integrity Hospice and was a supporter of Great Circle. He was a Mason and a member of the Shriners. His love of motorcycles drove him to join the Ozark Christian Riders – CMA Chapter #105. It was there he organized the OCR Annual Bike Show.
Thomas enjoyed many things in life such as motorcycle riding, fishing, carpentry, and lottery tickets. Commonly known at his Casey's as
Above all else, Thomas loved his family. He poured his heart and soul into his wife, children, and grandchildren. He taught them love, honor, and pride. Most of all he showed them what a great husband and father should be. He instilled morals and traditions that will be carried on for many more years to come.
Though we will miss him every day we were so lucky that we were able to share our lives with him. We are so grateful in the last week of his life we could come together as a family and laugh at old memories and sharing words of love and wisdom that will remain with us for a lifetime. Thomas is a man that will forever be irreplaceable. Though many will try to be as amazing, no one will come close and there will only ever be one Tommy. We are so lucky to have been loved by him.
