Jacqueline S. "Jackie" Reynolds, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, in her hometown of Springfield, Missouri, after a long illness. Born on September 5, 1943, in Springfield, Jackie lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Jackie was a proud graduate of Hillcrest High School, Class of 1961, where she cultivated a love for reading and learning that would last her lifetime. After completing her education, she devoted many years to the community as a dedicated cafeteria worker at Hillcrest High School, where she was known for her warm smile and nurturing spirit.
Jackie was a spirited woman with diverse interests. As an ardent fan of NASCAR, she cheered passionately for her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, and enjoyed many race days surrounded by family and friends, celebrating life's simple pleasures. She was also a talented seamstress, often crafting beautiful pieces for her family and friends.
Above all, Jackie loved being a mom and spoiling all her grandkids. Mike referred to her as Mom. Pam called her Momma. Chris referred to his grandma as "Nana No No" because he was always into stuff and she said "No" to him all the time. Amy and Nick called their Grandma "Nana Coo Coo" because of their vintage Cuckoo Clock that they have. Poppy would always make the Cuckoo clock run so they could see the bird come out and Coo.
Jackie was a devoted member of National Heights Baptist Church, where she found strength and fellowship in her faith.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, William "Bill" Reynolds, their daughter Pam Peryer and husband Jerry, son Mike Reynolds, and an adoring lineage of grandchildren: Chris Reynolds and wife Jessica, Amy Sharp, and Nick Sharp and wife Paula. She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Huxley Reynolds, Evelyn Reynolds, Amelia Sharp, and Perrie Sharp; two sisters-in-law, Verna Hughes, and Joyce Hughes; and a host of family and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by: by her parents, Arlie and Marcia Hughes, and two brothers, Larry Hughes, and Arlie Hughes.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jacob's Ladder and Integrity Hospice for their compassion and care of Jackie and her family during this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jackie's remarkable life during visitation at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on May 11, 2025, at 1:30 PM- 3:00 PM, with burial at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Jackie will be remembered with love and gratitude, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to charity of your choice. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and love will forever resonate within her family and friends.
