Thomas V. Fitzpatrick

Thomas V. Fitzpatrick, age 73, passed away at home in Metuchen on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Born in Queens, NY to the late Hubert V. and Dorothy G. Fitzpatrick, Tom, known fondly as "Fitz," was a lifelong resident of Metuchen, New Jersey. He worked as a salesman for Nu Horizons Electronics, specializing in semiconductors. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Tom served honorably overseas during the Vietnam War. In November 1980, Tom married his beloved wife Nancy, and together they enjoyed many years of travel and adventure.
Tom had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, and spent many weekends tending to his Koi pond. He cherished his time with friends, often socializing with them and enjoying his favorite TV shows with his cats by his side. His friends were like family to him, and he had a rare gift of making everyone feel welcomed and valued. His infectious smile and laughter brought warmth to every room, and his love for his family was unwavering. Whether cheering on his daughter Allison at soccer games or attending Lauren's recitals, Tom was always there to support and celebrate his loved ones.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Nancy L. (Morey) Fitzpatrick, and their two daughters, Allison and Lauren, both of Metuchen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) in Metuchen. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12 noon in the funeral home. All services will conclude at the funeral home, and cremation will be private. Following the service, family and friends are invited to a repast at Civile Cucina in Metuchen.
