Thomas “Tom” Wayne Gabehart, age 80, of Aztec, NM, passed away on August 10, 2024, in Farmington, NM. He was born on August 29, 1943, in Farmington, NM, to Roy and Flora Bell Gabehart.
Tom owned and operated Gabehart Backhoe Services for nearly 50 years. He married the love of his life, Patricia Richardson, on September 5, 1964. He loved farming and raising cattle and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Tom was highly respected in the community and was a great dad, grandpa, and “Tompa.”
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (Richardson) Gabehart; his son, William “Dude” Gabehart; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Gabehart; his parents, Roy and Flora Bell Gabehart; his brother, Harold Gabehart; his sisters, Wilma Cordell, Janelle Ely, and Leota “Marie” Truby; and his in-laws, Geneva “Nanny” Richardson and William “Dobie” Richardson.
He is survived by his son, Gabriel (Krista) Gabehart; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Pollert Gabehart; his brothers, Donald “Don” Gabehart and Robert “Bob” Gabehart; his grandchildren, Shelby Gabehart, Tyra (Brad) Hardin, Ashley Gabehart, and Billy Gabehart; and his great-grandchildren, Ty Hardin, Brynnley Hardin, Tex Hardin, Tuff Gabehart, and Bentley Hardin.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gabehart residence, located at 40 Road 3235, Aztec, NM 87410.
