Thomas Stanley Greff Sr. entered his eternal home peacefully on May 5th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 17, 1935 to Maryan and Sophie Greff in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest of seven children. Growing up in a Polish neighborhood, he attended Our Lady Help of Christians Grade School and St. Stanislaus Highschool. He began college at Orchard Lake Seminary with plans to be ordained as a priest, but instead began dating Tish and after completing his degree at St. Mary's College, they were married in 1959. They were blessed with five children, all of whom he dearly loved. His son Joey, who died at age four, was always in his mind and heart.
Tom led a successful career working for various automotive companies before starting his own management and consulting company known as Omni Systems Inc. His expertise in the software and tech industry led him to a position at Macomb Community College teaching Computer Science for many years. On May 22, 1989, he was married to his "kochany" Diane, with whom he shared over 35 wonderful years of marriage and a loving step-family. Tom and Diane enjoyed traveling to many countries, going on cruises, and owning a boat on Lake St. Clair.
Tom was known for his infectious sense of humor. He could make people laugh with his wit, jokes and puns. He was devoted to his family, the Catholic faith and Polish traditions. His faith in Christ was evident, anchoring and guiding him through his life journey. Being with family brought him the most joy along with enjoying good food, and watching old movies. Tom had a generous spirit and took pleasure in a good celebration of any kind with his loved ones.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his wife Diane, children Shelley (Mike) Komer, Paul (Rachel Eaton) Greff, Tom (Lee) Greff Jr., and Matt (Rene) Greff, stepchildren Carla (Richard) Cooley, Douglas Miller, Deanne Miller and Aaron (Tammie) Miller, 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, brother Henry Greff along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his son Joey Greff, siblings Irene, Richard, Albina, and Ted, and brothers-in-law Stanley and Herman.
Visitation will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 10:30 AM, with family and friends welcomed at 9:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be addressed to St. Mary Catholic School, Mt. Clemens.

I only had the privilege of meeting Mr. Greff at Brooke and Andrew´s wedding rehearsal.
Instantly loved his old school humor.
That is priceless these days
May he rest in peace and fond memories live on in all the hearts he´s touched.
