Tom was born in Minneapolis in 1938 to John and Frances Healey. He was a proud graduate of DeLaSalle High School, the University of Minnesota and the U of M Law School. Tom was passionate about bird hunting. His best times were out in the fields of South Dakota and Canada with his great friends. He loved Gopher basketball, the Twins and Vikings, and living on Lake Minnetonka.
Tom was a successful developer of multifamily housing in the Twin Cities suburbs. He founded Healey Ramme Company with Peter Ramme in the 1980's. They remained close friends, and they formed strong relationships with everyone who worked with them. Tom entered the banking world in the 1990's. He was president of the former BankWindsor, and went on to found Crown Bank in Edina, where he remained as chairman.
Whether in real estate or banking or hunting or in life, Tom was a mentor and an incredible support to dozens and dozens of people. He loved helping people!
Tom was predeceased by his sister Patricia Weber and brother John E Healey. Tom is survived by wife, Deborah (Debbie) of 41 years, four children John F Healey (Laura), Lisa Dahl (Peter), Ann Healey-Allen (Doug), Thomas Healey Jr, and stepdaughter Rachel Anderson. He is survived by one brother, Michael Healey. He was blessed with six beloved grandchildren: Tom, Jane, John, Patrica, Katie and Macey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, all with whom he had close relationships. And there are many, many people who are friends or "shirt-tail" relatives who also were close to Tom. He was generous to a fault with all, with his time and other resources.
Tom was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Excelsior. A visitation will be held on December 26th 4:30 - 7 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel in Edina, MN. A funeral mass will be held on December 27th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation half hour before at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Excelsior, MN. Private interment at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Minneapolis.
