Thomas Holbrook

Holbrook, Thomas, 76, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2023, under the care of his children. Tom was born and raised in Braintree to Alma and Lowell Holbrook, along with his brothers, the late Alan and Robert Holbrook. It was there he met and married his beloved wife, Lorraine (Zopatti) Holbrook who preceded him in death in 2021. Tom and Lorraine settled in Weymouth, raised two children and had a great life together, devoted to their family and each other.
For forty years Tom commuted to Cambridge where he worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in computer operations and hardware support. A master at small engine repair, he had a side hustle, Tom's Mower Repair, that he ran out of his parent's basement.
Upon retirement he never turned on another computer and instead turned his attention to traveling with his wife and good times spent with his family. Along with Lorraine, he was a great host, and will be remembered for his mudslides by the pool and his favorite holiday, the 4th of July, where he generously supplied and cooked lobsters with his son for friends and family for over 60 years.
He leaves behind a family who loved him and will miss him. His children, Lisa and Leo Doyle of Yarmouth Port and Michael and Jennifer Holbrook of Rockland, grandchildren that he adored, Mairead and her husband Jared, Ava, Emily and Harrison, and a large extended family of in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He requested there be no services, but you could make a donation to the NVNA and Hospice who helped take care of both Tom and Lorraine in their final days. You can also play keno, have a fisherman's platter or a hotdog and raise a glass to a great father and grandfather, who lived the american dream and went out completely as himself, he'd love that.
