Thomas H. James, 74, of Canton, went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025.
Tom was born April 19, 1951, in Canton, OH, to the late Francis and Kathryn James. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1969. Tom then attended the University of Cincinnati, pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering. The Vietnam War interrupted, and Tom went into the United States Air Force. On his discharge, he went into carpentry, which included remodeling and new construction. Upon retirement, Tom worked as the Property Manager of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marjorie James; children Katie (Alan) Stiver and Steve (Nicolle) James; grandchildren Brad, Luke & Isabelle Stiver and Josiah & Ranya James; siblings Charlene Sumser and Marianne James; multiple nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4 – 7 PM at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd., Massillon, OH 44646. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025, 10 AM, at Zion UCC, 415 South Main St., North Canton, OH 44720, with Pastor Lee Hutchings of Trinity PCA officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park will immediately follow.
