Thomas F. "Tom" Licameli

Thomas Francis Licameli, born 03/07/1940, raised to everlasting life with Our Lord Jesus Christ 08/03/2023. Son of the late Carmine and Mary (Nee DeSantis) Licameli.Loving, devoted, husband, father, uncle, "Papa", great-grandfatther, brother, brother-in-law, mentor and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife Emilia B. (Nee Irovic)of 60+ years, sons Joseph F (Lisa) Licameli, Vincent (Gina) Licameli, daughters Veronica (Mike) Licameli, Lucy (Daniel) Licameli, granddaughters Elyse (Ryan) Catanzaro, Sierra (Max) Huhman, Bonnie and Katarina Licameli, grandsons Christian Carter, Giovanni Licameli, Dominic Licameli, and Santino Licameli, great granddaughters Mia and Eva. Sister Rita Licameli of Hasbrouck Hts., NJ, brother Joseph P (Amy Sue) Licameli of Newport, RI, brother -in-law Frank (Maria) Irovic, sister-in-law Gloria (Cosmo) Licameli. Tom was a loving uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.
He is proceeded in death by his sisters : Sr. Mary Carmel, Sr. Paul Gabriel, Gaetana, Anna, Regina Licameli, and brothers: Cosmo (Gloria), Anthony (Gloria), Charles, Paul (Marian) Licameli, and baby Francis.
Tom was a proud army veteran. He started his career in the Army Corps of Engineers, where he was stationed in Greenland for 2 years. Afterwards, he came to St. Louis, MO where he trained at Bailey Technical School. During this time, he was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Emilia, and they married 6 months later. Tom held several jobs which he loved. he worked briefly as a teacher during his studies to become a diesel mechanic. Afterwards he worked at Dohrn transportation for over 20 years. Later, he spent time at Century 21 as a real estate agent, and finally he became a chauffer with GEM Transportation, which he enjoyed immensely.
Tom never met a stranger, and always wanted to know everyone's name. he was stubborn and a fighter. He beat 2 major heart attacks and bravely battled rheumatoid and osteo arthritis for over 20 years. He expressed great respect for nurses, who provided him with loving care throughout the years.
He had a great personality and could light up a room. Tom made everyone laugh, following the instructions of his sister Anna, who told him "Don't be so serious". Tom was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the joy to know him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom's memory to St. Vincent DePaul Society or The American Heart Association.
A visitation for Tom will be held at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, with burial to immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
